To empower the widowed and their children to transition more successfully through the stages of grief while raising social awareness regarding the challenges of widowhood.
Infinity serves all widowed, but in particular the younger widowed & their children in the Gwinnett county community of Atlanta, GA and beyond in dealing with grief and it’s debilitating symptoms by providing them with effective grief counseling, emotional support tools & life management training such as a 10 week grief counseling course, financial responsibility, caring for young children and health impact classes. The widowed community lacks the support required to help them manage life and re-establish themselves into society as productive citizens after experiencing the intense shock of losing a loved one. Our demographic touches men and women from the ages of 18-50+ of all backgrounds.
INFINITY was founded in the summer of 2015 as a project that Erica Baruti started in an effort to help others in the widowed community navigate through the steps of “what to do next” when you first become widowed. She lost her husband Alain in 2012 and was left with trying to manage her challenging new life along with the lives of their 2 little boys who were both under 3 years old. Everyone she asked for help from wasn’t sure in which direction to steer her, they had many suggestions. Most were not quite suited for the young widowed experience. In 2016 INFINITY officially became a non-profit and started serving as a clearing house for support resources. We began to expand when it was clear that much more was needed to help motivate and encourage the widowed community from depression to normalcy. If you or someone you know is widowed, be encouraged that all is not lost, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
